The Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative (LSSI) invites school teams to join us in interdisciplinary Place-based Stewardship Education (PBSE) for the 2023-24 school year! 

LSSI offers: 

(1) financial support through mini-grants ($700-$1000 available) and/or smaller seed grants (up to $500),

(2) professional learning opportunities, 

(3) team support by expert project mentors.

Teams interested in exploring Place-Based Stewardship, with lighter expectations are encouraged to apply for a ‘Seed’ Grant of up to $500. Further details can be found here. ‘Seed’ Grants may be used to enhance existing LSSI projects.

The application period is now open. Deadline for both applications is October 16th.  For teams that have already worked on projects for the upcoming year, an early review of applications will be conducted for applications received by September 15.
