U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad

The Upper Peninsula Local Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and Department of Chemistry, Michigan Technological University are hosting the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO).

Local Competition: Mar 7, 2020 (Saturday)

National Exam: TBD (One day in April 18 -26, 2020)

Both exams will take place at Michigan Technological University (Houghton, MI). Contact: Local Section Coordinator: Momoko Tajiri (mtajiri@mtu.edu)
Select students participating in the Upper Peninsula Local Section’s Local Chemistry Olympiad Competition will be nominated to advance to participate in the National Chemistry Olympiad Exam. The 20 top-scoring students are chosen to attend a study camp.

To participate, fill out and submit google registration form or email to coordinator – Momoko Tajiri  mtajiri@mtu.edu – by January 27, 2020.

Eligibility
• For Participating National Chemistry Olympiad Exam, students must be U.S. citizens or legal, permanent residents of the United States (green card holders). However, international students are welcome to participate in the Local Exam.
• High school students who will graduate no earlier than spring of the year that they participate in the competition are eligible
• Student must be under 20 years of age as of July 1,
2020.
